Students of the arts continue
to outperform their non-arts peers on the SAT, according to
reports by the College Entrance Examination Board.
In
2005, SAT takers with coursework/experience in acting/play production
scored 65 points higher on the verbal portion of the test and 34
points higher on the math portion than students with no coursework or
experience in the arts.

noted a direct relationship between politicians’ effectiveness and their use of

Recently, researchers from Washington University and from the
Group
Health Cooperative joined forces to train doctors in how to show those
emotions, that are necessary when working with patients. Their teaching was based on the methods used
by professional acting schools. They
noted the special importance of relating to patients through emotions, in a
time of increased dependence on technology.

Workers
in a branch of Safeway, located in Edinburgh, Scotland, were given acting
classes in order to learn how to better relate with customers. In Moscow, Russia, teachers from the famous Moscow Art Theatre School
lead a workshop for business people, called the "Business Theatre Workshop."
… theatre prevents depression?
Psychologists have
found that participation in artistic activities increases endorphin output,
which helps prevent depression, reduce stress, promotes good health, and
manages body weight.
